TW: Anti-queer violence I’d like to introduce you to my friend Queen. For safety reasons, I cannot use Queen’s real name, but Queen is a phenomenal doctor, organizer, and leader who is currently in an unimaginable situation. She is from a country with horrific anti-LGBTQ+ laws, and because of that, she is facing charges that carry a potential death penalty sentence simply because she is a transgender woman. Recently, Queen was kidnapped, brutally tortured, and detained by Ugandan officials because of her activism. She was able to get out of detention and many of us are working to get her to safety, but she is in dire need of help. There is not much else that I am able to say at this moment, but as I have updates and information that I can share, I certainly will.
